The Night's Itinerary

8:30 PM

Welcome at the Kosmos Welcome Lounge — a visualization and brief learning experience on the Perseids, together as one group.

9:15 PM

Head out into the field. General Viewing guests continue guided stargazing; Workshop guests begin hands-on instruction with Maggie Martin.

~12:00 AM

The night wraps up — take home your photos, your certificate, and (for Workshop guests) the skills to do it again.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring?

Warm layers — high desert nights get cold even in August — and closed-toe shoes. Workshop guests should bring their own camera capable of manual settings, plus a tripod if they have one.

What if it's cloudy?

This is a rain-or-shine event. We'll still hold the classroom and field portions of the astrophotography workshop, and everyone will still enjoy the Perseid shower — unless the sky is 100% cloudy.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Refunds are available within 24 hours of payment. After that, if your plans change or you need to cancel, the amount you paid keeps its full value as credit toward any future purchase at Kosmos — including other events or villa bookings.

Do I need astronomy or photography experience?

No experience needed for General Viewing. The Astrophotography Workshop is beginner-friendly — Maggie will walk you through camera settings from scratch.
