Kosmos Stargazing Resort was born in 2020 during a transformative journey to Colorado by our founder and CEO, Gamal Jadue Zalaquett. Surrounded by vast landscapes and pristine night skies, Gamal realized it was time to leave his corporate career behind and pursue a vision rooted in purpose, nature, and the cosmos.
Inspired by Colorado’s beauty, he envisioned a stargazing resort in a certified dark-sky region, where astronomy, sustainability, and elevated hospitality coexist. That vision found its home 30 minutes from Great Sand Dunes National Park.

Our astronomer-led sky tours run beneath Bortle Class 2 skies, designed for all levels of curiosity, from first-time stargazers to seasoned enthusiasts. Each villa also features a private telescope, allowing you to explore the cosmos directly from your own deck.

What Off-Grid Means for Your Stay
At Kosmos Resort, off-grid living is part of the experience. We operate independently from public utilities, using renewable energy and natural systems to power electricity, water, heating, and waste—allowing you to disconnect without sacrificing comfort.
Energy Usage: Our solar-powered energy system is designed for mindful use. We kindly ask guests to turn off lights and electronics when not in use, especially overnight, as battery reserves depend on sunlight for recharging during the day.
Water Conservation: Water at Kosmos comes from a deep natural well and is rich in minerals, including iron. It is completely safe for drinking and everyday use. Because our water system is also solar-powered, we recommend showering and bathing during daylight hours, when the system is most active. You may occasionally notice a slight brown tint—this is a natural characteristic of mineral-rich water and part of the authentic off-grid experience.
Climate Control: Each villa is designed with passive heating and cooling, working in harmony with the natural environment. You may notice gentle temperature changes throughout the day—part of the off-grid rhythm that defines life at Kosmos. For your comfort, every villa is equipped with cozy indoor spaces, blankets, and fans.
Connectivity: Wi-Fi is available in all Kosmos Villas, though cell service may vary depending on your provider. We invite you to embrace a slower pace and take this opportunity to disconnect from digital noise and reconnect with nature, the night sky, and the present moment.
